Those who have followed my blog or my personal social media pages may have noticed I’ve been involved with occasional outdoor writing work. This is all thanks to my graphic design client, Northern Eye Books, who I’ve worked with on walking book design for the last few years. They have given me invaluable advice to begin turning my hobby writing into something a little more professional, sitting nicely alongside my passion for graphic design and the outdoors.

In the words of The OWPG themselves;
“Words and Pictures from the Outdoors sums up what the OWPG is all about. We are the only UK-based association of media professionals working largely or entirely on outdoor subjects.
To be more specific, according to our Constitution, members must be: “actively and professionally involved in sustainable activities in any outdoor setting”.

At the moment, I only have a handful of published photographs and online blogs and articles, some of which are posted here, and so being accepted into the prestigious OWPG (Outdoor Writers and Photographers Guild) had been a goal of mine for the last 12 months. Some day, I hope to be able to write, design and publish my own book – watch this space!
